This national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid. All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner. You may count the qualification accreditation towards your formal general educational development.

Duration: 1 day - 09:00 to 17:00.

Syllabus: A range of subjects are covered including: • Responsibilities & Reporting • Minor Injuries • Resuscitation • Assessment of the situation • Bleeding Control • Recovery position • Choking • Seizures • Shock • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Infection control • Safe use of equipment.

Certification: Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a written assessment. Valid for a 3 year period.

Suitability: This course is open to all who wish to gain a basic knowledge of first aid and is ideal for low hazard environments or where your needs assessment identifies a requirement for a first aider trained in emergency first aid at work. You will be working with other course delegates and participating in group exercises; this includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a manikin and getting on the floor to be put in the recovery position, so comfortable clothing is advised.
