QM

£90.00

Description

The purpose of antenatal screening is to identify women with an increased risk of having a pregnancy affected by Down’s syndrome so that they can be offered a diagnostic test. The Combined test involves the measurement of two substances in the maternal serum and ultrasound measurement and the three markers are used, together with the woman’s age, to estimate her risk of having a pregnancy with Down’s syndrome. The Quadruple test involves using the measurement of four markers in the maternal serum together with the woman’s age, to estimate her risk of having a pregnancy with Down’s syndrome.
