Writing Your Master’s Dissertation - 15th June 2017

Workshop retreat

15th June 2017, 10:00 – 16:00

Writing & Study Guidance (part of Learning Development) is pleased to announce a whole-day event to help QMUL Masters students get their dissertations written.

The event will involve group discussion and activities with a focus on goal setting, how to tackle writers block, and when and how to edit your writing. You will also spend a significant amount of time actually writing your dissertation.

To make the most of the day you will need to have:
•Identified the specific sections or chapters which you want to write
•Completed all the reading you need to do for those sections/chapters
•Have comprehensive notes of your reading to enable you to write
•Written a plan or outline of what you want to include in that section/chapter

There will be Writing & Study Guidance staff on hand to talk to, however, please note that the idea of the retreat is for you to complete some writing. Staff will not be there to discuss problems of grammar, the mechanics of referencing or to check work, although they will be able to provide some one-to-one help.

The cost for the retreat is £5. The retreat will include lunch and tea/coffee. Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds if you cannot attend.
