SysMus17 is the 10th edition of the SysMus conference series, whose aims are to provide opportunities for students of systematic musicology to present their work in an environment of peers, and to provide opportunities for students to gain experience in conference hosting.  Nearly the entire conference is student-led, with a student committee (plus staff supervisor), student presenters and student reviewers.  This year we will hear presentations from a wide scope of topics within systematic musicology, including music perception, music theory, music therapy and music information retrieval, among others!

SysMus conferences additionally feature keynote addresses from established researchers, allowing students both to hear from experts and to share their work with them.  This year, we are pleased to welcome keynotes Lauren Stewart from Goldsmiths University of London and Aaron Williamon from the Royal Conservatory of Music as well Marcus Pearce (QMUL), Elaine Chew (QMUL) and Daniel Müllensiefen (Goldsmiths) for a workshop on computational approaches to systematic musicology.
