Description

There has been little chance for researchers, performers and designers to come together in order to explore the use and design of new and evolving technologies for musical performance. This workshop examines the interplay between people, musical instruments, performance and technology. Now, more than ever technology is enabling us to augment the body, develop new ways to play, perform, and augment existing instruments that can span the physical and digital realms. By bringing together performers, artists, designers and researchers we aim to develop and new understandings how we might co-create new performance technologies.

This one day workshop is part of the Audio Mostly conference but a limited number of separate registrations are available. The workshop will take place on the 26th of August in London. We hope that the workshop will be a chance for a wide range of people to come together to better understand the design and development of new musical performance technologies. See our call for papers.
